Now that Inter Parish Ministry has closed down the Nearly New Shop, we have moved from a "traditional" food panty to a "client choice" food pantry. This move is a win-win situation for both IPM and the low-income clients we serve.

For Inter Parish Ministry:
  • Less discarded food, as some clients throw away food items they cannot use or prepare
  • Money saved when rarely selected items are no longer bought
  • Volunteers have more opportunities to interact with clients and spend less time putting together pre-planned boxes
For Clients:
  • Able to choose their own food
  • A rise in confidence and self-esteem levels
  • Opportunities to interact with volunteers and staff
Inter Parish Ministry wants to create an atmosphere of dignity for its clients. Many of the people we serve have few choices in other areas of their lives and giving them the opportunity to choose their own food- food their families need and will enjoy- can positively impact their self-esteem.

If you would like to donate food items or volunteer to assist clients as they "shop" in IPM's new "client choice" pantry, please call 561-3932.
